Matthew is a qualified Carpenter by trade and registered Building Practitioner. He has been actively involved in the construction industry for 19 years and started as an apprentice carpenter under father David Burke (also a registered builder/carpenter).

While completing his trade and taking a keen interest in the business itself he progressed to Construction Manager within D.A. Burke. During his appointment he oversaw a variety of projects from luxury resorts, residential developments and commercial projects.

Currently, Matt personally oversees all construction work within D.A. Burke Builders and ensures that the high level of quality and customer service promised to customers is delivered.

With over 28 years of hands-on experience in the building and construction industry, Daryn brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and practical insight to his role as Director and Senior Estimator at D.A. Burke Builders. Starting his career as an apprentice under the guidance of his father, Daryn has worked across all facets of the business — from carpentry through to construction management and project delivery.

Holding a Certificate IV in Building and Estimating, Daryn has continually expanded his expertise, combining technical skill with strategic planning. His progression through the roles of Carpenter, Construction Manager, and Project Manager has given him a comprehensive understanding of every stage of the building process.

As a Director of the company, Daryn plays a key role in guiding the business forward. He leads the estimating department and serves as the primary point of contact for clients — overseeing project costings, sales responsibilities, and contract administration. His ability to align client expectations with practical delivery, budgets, and timelines ensures smooth transitions from concept to construction.

Daryn’s longstanding connection to D.A. Burke Builders and his unwavering commitment to quality and client satisfaction make him an invaluable asset to the company and to every project it undertakes.
